When access to the family’s first-floor bathroom made bathing difficult and physically demanding for the carer, they needed a compact solution that could fit the existing space. Bathing had become increasingly challenging due to the bathroom’s location on the first floor and the limited space available. For the carer, helping with transfers and positioning in the bath was physically demanding and created unnecessary strain. The family needed a solution that could improve accessibility and safety without requiring major changes to the existing bathroom.
Strategy: finding a compact bath that fits the space
The priority was to find a bathing solution that would work within the existing bathroom layout while making everyday bathing easier for both the user and the carer. It needed to be compact enough for the available space, practical for assisted bathing, and affordable for the family. A height-adjustable bath offered the flexibility needed to improve access and make transfers and care tasks more manageable.
Solution: creating a safer, more comfortable bathing experience with AquaCare
The height adjustable AquaCare bathtub was chosen for its light and compact construction and affordable price. Additional bath accessories were added to support the safety of the Client during bathing of a mounted shower bed & safety guard.
Contractors were liaised with to make sure the bath pipework, power supply and waste were positioned correctly prior to the bath delivery. It was also planned that the bath be fitted prior to a new basin, to allow for extra space during bath installation.
