Sustainability

Creating a sustainable and responsible organization

At Ropox, we focus on increasing the quality of our performance by integrating ESG considerations into all our activities. We make sure to manage our business in a manner that embraces sustainable practices to benefit our planet and society while also strengthening our bottom line to address the expectations of our stakeholders.

On an ongoing basis, we monitor all relevant environmental and occupational health and safety acts to ensure that, to the best of our knowledge, our activities are compliant with established legal requirements.

Active environmental focus

As a manufacturing company, we play an essential role in the effort to minimize our environmental impact.

We measure our environmental impact according to the greenhouse gas protocol. This gives us a clear picture on where our focus shall be to secure continuous environmental improvements.

We are certified according to DS/EN ISO14001:2015.

See our ISO 14001:2015 certificate here.

Electricity from renewable sources

We have a goal to minimize the environmental impact of our operations. That is why we have chosen to cover our annual electricity consumption with electricity from renewable energy sources.

The following certificate document that we financed a production of wind power that corresponds to our own electricity consumption, and that this wind power has been sent out to the grid. With this certificate, we feel that there is an opportunity to put action behind the words.

See our RECS certificate Renewable Energy.

Quality policy

An easier life with increased self-esteem and freedom to safely look after yourself is always at the top of our agenda.

We focus on our quality policy and each of our employees must have the will to make a genuine difference for people with disabilities and their helpers. Targeted recruitment processes and staff development schemes lead to dedicated employees with the desire to deliver the best quality.

Our quality management system complies with the DS/EN ISO 9001:2015 standard.

See our ISO 9001:2015 certificate here.

Design

At Ropox, we view the design process as a matter of the heart.

The design clearly reflects that our goal is to create a daily life with self-esteem, quality, and the freedom to safely look after yourself.

Our goal is to create a daily life with self-esteem, quality, and the freedom to safely look after yourself. Users and helpers know their own challenges the best. That’s why we are in a continuous dialogue from idea to finished product. And together, we make high demands on accessibility, product selection, and design.

Product development and production take place at our own factory where our technicians work in close interaction with external therapists and industrial designers and do their utmost to deliver futureproof assistive devices and furniture for people with disabilities.

Sustainable supply chain solutions with SEDEX SMETA

In 2022 we have been audited and approved in SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit)

SMETA is one of the most widely used social audit procedures in the world. It provides a globally-recognised way to assess responsible supply chain activities, including labour rights, health & safety, the environment and business ethics.

Working in all areas of ESG, is complex. We believe that through collaboration and education in the supply chain with our suppliers and other partners, we can influence and improve practices and mentalities.
Because of the complexity of the ESG work, it is difficult to issue guarantees on the products of our suppliers. But we guarantee that we are aware of our responsibility, and we are working to improve the quality and ESG practices throughout all our supply chain.
As part of these efforts, we ask our suppliers to comply with the Ethical Trading Base Code. The ETI base code can be found here: https://www.ethicaltrade.org/eti-base-code

The UN's world goals in practice

United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are not just empty words to us. We work with the SDGs for two reasons: Firstly, because they help solve some of the most critical challenges in the world today; and secondly, because they help safeguard ROPOX as a company.

It means that we – amongst others – measure our success on our ability to create a sustainable world, and therefore, the SDGs are a natural part of our CSR work.

There are three global challenges that we help solve:

#4 SDG: Quality education

#6 SDG: Clean water and sanitation

#12 SDG: Responsible consumption and production

Ropox Code of Conduct

Our products ensure people with disabilities a more self-reliant everyday life with a higher quality of life, while their helpers enjoy a better working environment.

It goes without saying that we take the best possible care of our fellow human beings and our common surroundings. With the position as one of the world’s leading developers of aids for the disabled also comes a global and social responsibility.

As part of AddLife, it is important for us to live up to the following code of conduct, which is deeply integrated into our business. It shows how to act responsibly as a company. At Ropox, we are at the forefront of current legislation and ethical guidelines. We also act in environmental policy by integrating environmental considerations into our daily work and continuously educate our employees in environmental matters.
